-drew the Japanese characters for the food brochure- The file will be on the drive
-Panel printed a black and white prototype of the table mat (to size)- Did have some trouble initially because of file size was large but in the end it printed. Cut and Stuck all the panels together to the size of 840 by 840mm.
-Set up the table with draft prototypes of the origami i made (they should all be in colour in the end, just used what I had for now to get a general idea)
-Some things very a bit close, such as some napkins and chopsticks. I just need to shift those a little so there is more space.
-I found the japanese characters were a little blury so I'll probably just have to re draw those.
-The reveal text gets a little cut so I'll need to shift that.
-notice some text errors and also I need to be more consistent with my spacing within text groups (need to fix them so they are all the same).
tableware
-just need to change the type to non italics and also correct spacings of text.
-didn't like how the Japanese characters sat on this one, also the text didn't sit well on the fold and looked weird in italics.
-Also with the app just wondering about consistency with table origami if the imagery is white because they aren't white on the tableware.
-Also keep the type consistent (I think we are using adobe caslon pro for titles for tableware and table)- Probably should keep them the same or find a font similar if it looks weird on app.- Also it would be futura for body text.
-I wrote some stuff for your app post below aswell by the way.
-Does the layout look okay with the icons and text?
-Yup it looks fine. Are you going to shift it back in the middle?
-going to shift the teapot text to middle
-for the text and icon on the cup I found its better to be shifted upwards because its harder to see when too far down
-The chopsticks are a bit difficult to layout since the surface area is a lot smaller than the other origami.
-I need to make sure that the text doesn't go over folds and also I need to make sure I put the icons in the right spot so that they don't get cut.
-Below are trials I did that the imagery and text got got. (I need to fix these)
-made the chopstick rests with one side with colour
-do you reckon they look okay with just the one side with colour?
Table mat to scale
-Full view of prototype of table layout (to size)- 840 by 840
-was wondering whether I should add in the seasons somewhere so summer, winter, spring and autumn in kanji just so people know its the 4 seasons? might try if I find some space?
-Yes add it in if it doesn't make the design too complicated. We can always put it in the brochure instead.
-view from blue side (winter)
-view from pink side (spring)
-view from orange side (autumn)
-Example of using chopsticks to shift food.
-Example of lifting bowls to reveal the hidden etiquette
-A look at etiquette written on table next to shifted bowls
-errors to correct
-closeness of chopsticks to napkin
-add "say itadakimasu before starting where chopsticks are?
-rough idea of where to add season icons and names so it is more clear that each setting is a certain season (depends on whether there will be room)
-Folding table mat (easier for transportation and keeps the origami theme consistent throughout)
-------------------------
-For the brochures do you reckon we should add some English text, just so people know what its for? I did add some English words to the table mat.
-I reckon the placements of this text can be vertical and horizontal create a dynamic feeling?
-Seasonal food (just used the draft you printed awhile back as an example)
-you can try add the text or put up the file in drive and I can try too
-Also I need the file to put underlines and kanji (I'll try draw them)
-Etiquette brochure (formalities)
-still not sure about the inside layout of this one, if you could help it would be a big help
-Thought this one could just have the title of etiquette levels
------------------
poster stuff
- Do you reckon it sounds better as waste nothing rather than don't waste?
-changed website link to qr code- kinda looks a bit slapped on at the moment. Not sure how to integrate it in.
-tried using your circle idea- background seems a bit harsh at the moment- looks a bit weird
-change what it saids
