-remember to post the etiquette brochure up when your done- I need it for table layout- If you could help with that too it would help.
-also post up the packaging and table when those are done too
-can you post up the design as well so we can layout stuff on it
-remember we need to finish things by friday or monday so we can test print
-Once i do these I just need to figure out these hopefully it will be able to do the rest however I will still need to arrange imagery on the chopsticks
-We still need to do a user journey map aswell.
-experimenting with placement, some parts keep getting cut.
-nabe rice bowl
-need to move the english text to the top so it is visible
-put some paper food in to test
-The rice bowl icon gets a bit covered but you can still see a little of the icon
-Tried re placing the icon on the teapot- it is less cut off than it was
-might move the passing text to the top- its a little cut off at the bottom
tested food in the sauce and side dish bowl
-not sure whether the text might be too small but since the bowls are quite small its hard
-are the icons recognizable and in a good spot?
-what do you reckon?
-I think I might make the japanese text slightly bigger and have it slightly cropped.- I wanted to sort of do the cropping like the brochures but not sure how.
-not sure about text layouts, any suggestions?
-------------------------
-moved english text to top
------------------------------
-for the empty bowls I was thinking that we could just use the kanji for the food?
-Any other ideas?
-this one is nabe (i think)
-soba
-might fix them later
-----------------
-made the nabe bowl out of what I printed from the computer
-do you reckon its too small?
------------------------
-tried making the images bigger- I reckon it does look better with bigger images?
-also changed the grid a little
-Oh yeah since we changed the colours I might have to change the colours in the illustrated kanji aswell.
-changed the colours in the kanji to the same ones we are using for the tableware
-added the kanji to your layout to see what it would look like.
-I feel like the two brochures have two different styles though?
-Do you reckon there is a way to make them more cohesive?
-beaware that I've redrawn some icons so you might want to use those (passing, pouring and the gassho for itadakimasu are redrawn by the way)- haven't changed them in the image below.
Also I think we probably need some form of marketing collateral so I was thinking maybe we should make some posters as well:
-Also it would be good to also make a website homepage or something? could you manage that?
-It would be cool if the posters were also all square to keep with the square theme. But what do you reckon?
-maybe something like these?
----------------
stuff for paper table mat:
-not sure about the coloured squares as of yet
----------
User Journey
Let me know if you want me to change anything.
------
this is the etiquette brochure. it was a challenge fitting everything, and i hope the text is still legible after we print it. i'll upload the document on drive too so you can play around with the layout.
wasn't entirely sure where i should put itadakimasu and gochisosama. any ideas? need to make sure when the brochure is folded, the content inside doesnt bleed out with the titles.
-I feel like it needs something? like its lacking something? maybe contrast, not sure. But I think it just needs to be printed to see whether it works.
-hm.. i might have a go once I finish the origami though, still quite a lot to do
table mat thing so far:
-still looks kinda weird and sort of cramped
-any ideas how to lay this out?
-I'll put the file on drive , so you can have a go
-I think it looks better with the colours not be so prominent? what do you reckon?
-Here I used the bowl colours and lower the transparency to 50% for the Japanese characters.
a minor change to jikabashi
-its not changed abrove
-make sure to change it to this if you use the file, it should have that image and the writinf in the image below
The brochure layout is more similar to the table mat now.
it's definitely looking a lot better than the previous one.
there's still some small details i have to fix. What do you think?
